How the Green and White Rivers Reach Auburn Homes
Two dammed rivers, one valley floor, and the places that have taken water.
AUBURN NEIGHBORHOOD · NORTH AUBURN
River water across the street, or water in the crawlspace after a week of rain? Start with a call.
North Auburn lives with the Green River. When the river runs high, the city closes roads on this side of town, including Green River Road, D Street NE and South 277th Street, and neighborhoods close to the river have had water seep in. Most years it stays on the roads and fields. When it doesn't, the first floors and crawlspaces closest to the river take the water. The rest of the time, North Auburn's calls look like anywhere else: an upstairs bathroom in a newer house, a washer hose, or a water heater in an apartment closet.

Apartments and townhomes are common along this corridor. If you rent, tell the property manager in writing and send photos; units above and below yours may be wet too.
Calls from here usually involve ceiling water damage, wet drywall and floors, basement and crawlspace water, water removal, flood cleanup or the whole restoration and mitigation job. One number covers all of it.
When the river is up, follow the City of Auburn and King County for closures, and stay off flooded roads.
